Essential Job Functions
- Automation Strategy & Standards – Define and evolve Anchor’s automation and controls strategy, establishing scalable, modular frameworks, best practices, and delivery standards that drive repeatable, high-performance solutions across all client programs.
- Project Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration – Lead engineering and program management teams in planning, budgeting, and executing automation projects. Partner with clients, field teams, and internal stakeholders to ensure alignment of strategy, schedules, and technical direction.
- Technical Oversight & Guidance – Provide senior-level oversight of automation system designs, programming approaches, SCADA solutions, and operational sequences. Ensure design decisions are consistent with Anchor’s modular and scalable delivery approach.
- Team Development & Mentorship – Build and mentor high-performing engineering teams, fostering technical depth, leadership skills, and a culture of continuous improvement.
- Empower engineers and field leaders to take ownership while providing guidance on complex challenges.
- Standards, Processes & Continuous Improvement – Lead the development and refinement of automation standards, deployment playbooks, and internal processes. Drive efficiency, repeatability, and scalability across all projects and teams.
- o Strategic Partner Development – Identify and cultivate relationships with key external partners, including integrators, vendors, and fabricators, to expand Anchor’s delivery capabilities and support
- strategic growth.
- o Innovation & Emerging Technology – Monitor emerging automation and control technologies relevant to hyperscale, mission-critical, and industrial environments. Recommend and implement practical innovations that advance Anchor’s competitive advantage.
- o Client & Stakeholder Leadership – Act as a senior technical advisor and escalation point for clients and internal teams. Guide critical decisions and ensure solutions meet quality, performance, and
- strategic objectives.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent work experience.
- 10+ years of experience in building and/or industrial automation (5-7+ years in technical leadership role)
- Advanced knowledge of programming to include Rockwell Automation, and/or Schneider Electric
- PLC / HMI / SCADA platforms required.
- Proficient with Python, Java, C/C++and PLC / HMI required (experience may vary)
- Allen-Bradley RSLogix / Studio 5000 and Factory/Talk
- Schneider Electric Unity Pro (Control Expert)
- Ignition SCADA
- CODESYS- based PLC Platforms
- Extensive experience in automation control loops, field IO, P&ID’s.
- Proficient with Mechanical & Electrical Systems (MEP).
- Experienced in IT and OT System Level Integration.
- Proven project management and field execution experience.
- Self-starter with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to function and execute independently and as well as part of a team.
- Data Center or hyperscale client experience is a plus.
- 25-40% travel may be required.
