Cyber Security Engineer with Top Secret Clearance

This entry-level role helps implement security controls, monitor systems for anomalies, and assist with incident response and recovery planning. The engineer works under the guidance of senior staff and contributes to ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of cloud infrastructure. Must have an active Top Secret Clearance.

1. Supports security monitoring of cloud-hosted platforms and web applications for anomalous activity.
2. Assists in developing and maintaining incident response and recovery plans.
3. Conducts basic vulnerability scans and support platform testing for security flaws.
4. Helps maintain secure cloud infrastructure by applying encryption, access controls, and patching procedures.
5. Learns to implement and manage security tools (e.g., firewalls, IDS/IPS, endpoint security).
6. Supports compliance activities, including user access audits and follow-ups on policy violations.
7. Participates in updating users, revoking access, and assisting with security documentation.
8. Learns and apply COMSEC and cryptographic key management basics (CKMS).

Requirements:
  • 1+ years of experience in cybersecurity or IT security. 
  • Understanding of cloud environments. 
  • Familiarity with web application security principles and basic penetration testing tools. 
  • Basic knowledge of firewalls, encryption, and authentication methods. 
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
